‘Cherry Tree’, seen in a second colourway in the loose swatch, is probably based upon one of the designer Alec Walker’s drawings of his own garden in Newlyn. It is related to the ‘Hound and Tree’ design of the silk dress seen as a Related Item, in which Walker’s saluki dog can be seen beneath a fruit laden tree.
